CONNECTICUT: Former Bush aide John Michael Farren charged with trying to kill wife Mary after she served him with divorce papers

The intersection of domestic violence and divorce has yet another fatality (or almost fatality). Charges have been levelled against a former Bush aid, one Mr.John Michael Farren for trying to strangle his wife Mary after she asked for divorce. Mr. Farren, according to associated press reports, was deputy White House counsel during President George W. Bush’s second term. He was undersecretary for international trade in the Commerce Department under Bush’s father, President George H.W. Bush.
He has denied the charges. And hopefully, he is being truthful. It would be awful to think that this is yet another case of “divorce terrorism.” It seems I didn’t do that post too soon.
