LOS ANGELES: Jamie McCourt wants $1M in temp. spousal support and $9M for attorneys and accountants

The LA Times is reporting that Dodgers owners Frank and Jamie McCourt have taken the fight to ridiculous heights. Now Jamie and her attorneys have made a motion for temporary spousal support to the tune of $1,000,000 per month and she also seeks attorney’s fees to the tune of $9,000,000 per month. See, how come I don’t get cases like that? Of course, Frank’s side is basically pooh poohing that. He claims Jamie has mucho disposable income, in the millions! And that she can pay her own attorney’s fees and support herself. If he is telling the truth, then I think the judge should deny the motion. Attorneys fees shoulld only be awarded to balance the equities between warring divorce couples. By equity I mean that one spouse has access to all the money and the other spouse is destitute and can’t afford to pay any bills. Since this does not appear to be the case in the McCourt case, then arguably Jamie shouldn’t get a dime. The hearing is set for later in the Month according to LAT, and the judge will pretty much be called upon to make a judgment call. Stay tuned.
