Just because Newsweek names you one of the 50 most influential American rabbis don’t seem to mean you are worth emulating. According to today’s New York Post, a Westhampton rabbi, Marc Schneier, who is also a spiritual advisor to heavy hitters like Steven Spielberg has split from his 4th wife while contemporaneously he is being sued by his 3rd wife for non-payment of support. Meanwhile, he’s already hooked up with another woman named “Gitty.” Says the Post:
Prominent Rabbi Marc Schneier, who just split from his fourth wife, is being sued by his third wife for full custody of their son after he admitted he was suffering from bipolar disorder.
Schneier, founding rabbi of the New York Synagogue and the Hampton Synagogue in Westhampton, is also a spiritual adviser to stars including Russell Simmons and Steven Spielberg.
Page Six revealed a week ago that he had split from his fourth wife, Tobi Rubinstein-Schneier, after three years, and has since started spending time with an attractive brunette named Gitty. But he’s still battling in court with third wife Fay Toby Schneier, who filed for divorce in March 2005. The next hearing over custody of their son, Brendan, 11, is set for July 14.
