House Ethics Committee clears divorcee Cal. Rep Laura Richardson of wrongdoing

Laura Richardson has been cleared after a six month review by the House Ethics Committee. Turns out that whatever went down with the “preferential treatment” situation (something about her mortgage broker who submitted falsified documents on her  behalf to Washington Mutual Bank during a foreclosure) Laura was not the one. Since her divorce, she’s been having financial problems and that led to some unfortunate decisions and turns with regard to her financial disclosure forms, which led to the ethics investigation. But all is well now. She’s off the hook.
