Head of IMF arrested for sexual assault in New York while wife in Paris defends him

There is no imminent divorce for the head of the IMF, monsieur Dominique Strauss-Kahn and his wife, New York born Anne Sinclair. According to Yahoo News, Ms. Sinclair has come out swinging in defense of her bureaucrat husband who was accused of sexual assault by a maid at the Sofitel Hotel in NYC where he was staying (in transit to Germany for a meeting with German chancellor Angela Merckle). Sinclair is quoted as saying, “”I do not believe for one second the accusations brought against my husband. I have no doubt his innocence will be established.”
So that bodes well for this marriage, at least in the short run. After all, he is presumed innocent till proven guilty and she backs him and it might work out….of course, he has a reputation with women and having affairs and has been dubbed “the seducer.” Plus, according to reports, there is another woman who claims he assaulted her several years ago and the Yahoo article claims that the woman’s lawyer plans to re-open that case in light of these new allegations.
So, Ms. Sinclair may be standing by her man now, but if new allegations emerge, she could have a change of position and this marriage could possibly end in divorce.
But let’s hope not. Let’s hope that he is innocent and that these are baseless charges which will be diproven. Because for someone of his stature, head of the International Monetary Fund, it is somewhat incredible that he would or could do something so untoward such as what the maid has alleged.
