Are French people better at handling divorce than Americans?

Are the French just better at divorce than we are? I was pondering this as I stood online at the supermarket today, and I saw a picture of French President Nicolas Sarkozy and his beautiful wife, Carla Bruni. I mean, he’s been divorced how many time, this guy? And its as if it is nothing. But it is not only them. I have noticed as a general rule that French people don’t get as bent out of shape as we do about marriage and divorce. Statistics show they are marrying in less numbers and that when they divorce, it is not nearly as vitriolic as it is in America. You have your exceptions, of course. But they seem to handle their relationships, marriages and divorces with a little more aplomb than we do over here. I wonder why that is? Is it the wine?
