Cara Cox, an American girl abducted by her father and taken to Mexico is found

The Orlando Sentinel reports that a missing child who had been abducted by her father in a custody dispute in 2009 and taken to Hidalgo Mexico has been found and returned to her mother. The child, Cara Cox, was only 8 year old when her father, who had weekend visitation, failed to return her to her mother but instead abducted the girl and ran off to Mexico. It is not clear whether Aaron Cox and Jodie Borchert were ever married and if this was a divorce situation but what is clear is that his actions triggered the Hague Convention, UCCJEA and ICARA – national and international statutes pertaining to child abductions and now he is in big trouble.
The Sentinel article reads in part:

In the nearly five years since Cara Cox disappeared with her father during a court-ordered weekend visit, deputies say she has been living under an assumed name in a remote region in Mexico.
The Volusia County girl, now 12 years old, was reunited with her mother Saturday. Her father, Aaron Cox, 55, was arrested and faces charges of interfering with child custody.
