CHAMPAGNES FOR YOUR DIVORCE LAWYER
Your divorce lawyer works hard for you to get you the result you deserve in your divorce case. This is true and characteristic of divorce lawyers all over the country, as a general rule. If you did your homework and picked the right divorce lawyer, you should be very happy with the outcome and with the efforts your divorce lawyer made on your behalf.
For the divorce lawyer who has done an exceptional job for you (and the emphasis is on “exceptional” – no mediocre, half assed performers need to get any champagne!) you may be wondering about a nice thank you gift. Of course you can always go with wine. But how about exceptional champagne, to indulge his or her inner voluptuary and really say thank you with class?
So the next question is which champagnes are the best ones? Here are six to consider:
Billecart-Salmon Brut Rosé
This champagne is one of the most affordable on the list and will cost on average $70. It is a nice gift for a lawyer who handled an uncontested divorce or who was relatively “inexpensive.” This champagne is very well reviewed and is considered by many to be one of the best out there in this price range. Its salmon’s pink hue and its fruity, orangey taste is a delightful gastronomic pleasure for champagne lovers.
2. Krug Rosé
Apparently and according to Sothebys.com, Madonna’s favorite champagne is, you guessed it, Krug Rosé. This is a very well received wine with a very nice price tag (about $350 per bottle) to match this reception, so you are going to send this one to the divorce lawyer you really, appreciate. This is the holy grail of exceptional champagnes and is an indulgent gift reserved for the lawyer who just really knocked it out of the park. Realistically, you will only be able to give this gift if you are quite affluent yourself and if you had what is considered to be a “high net worth” or “high asset” divorce.
3. Verve Clicquot La grande dame rosé
This will cost about $170. It is also a very nice and very well known champagne. Consider giving it to a female divorce attorney.
4. Dom Pérignon Champagne Brut
At about $200 per bottle, the Dom Pérignon Champagne is not cheap. So you can’t give it to a lawyer who describes himself as “cheap.” Don’t misunderstand, a cheap divorce lawyer is a savings and a lot people appreciate the value because it leaves more money in your pocket. But appreciate that the two just don’t mesh. It is like Krug. Both in style and substance and is probably more appropriate for an expensive divorce lawyer.
5. Verve Clicquot Yellow Label Brut
Wine Spectator said this about Verve Clicquot Yellow Label Brut: “Bright and lightly toasty, this elegant Champagne layers flavors of cassis, crushed hazelnut and lemon meringue pie on the creamy bead.” Sounds lovely, doesn’t it? And it is quite affordable at $55 on average. Do you think it adequately captures the essence of your divorce lawyer?
6. Moet & Chandon Imperial Brut
At $35, this is one of the most affordable champagnes you will find and it is a nice one, regardless of the vintage year. Totalwine.com described it this way – “An Impressive consistency of lemon and lime flavors, smooth, crisp and easy to drink. A good length that is clean and full of apple and honey notes. Richness and softness fills the finish with a clean aftertaste.”
