CAUGHT USING A DATING APP WHILE YOU ARE MARRIED?
Tell the truth: Did you try to cheat on your ex by using a dating app behind their back? Did your ex catch you using a dating app? Is this why you are divorced? Wow. Not to be judgmental or anything. But if you are married already, what the heck are you doing on a dating app? If it was not to cheat on your ex?
Imagine how you would feel if you caught your ex on a dating app. What would you assume about that? I recently read somewhere that a famous Hollywood actress’s then-husband caught her using a dating app. They are divorced now. But that is the inspiration for this post because I asked myself “is that appropriate to be using a dating app while you are married?”
Obviously, if your ex catches you using a dating app and you are together, then it should be a clue that all is not well in your marriage, right? You typically would not use a dating app if you are happy with your partner. Right? Or are you just one of those people who needs multiple partners? Some people do. It is not that they are unhappy with the primary relationship it’s just that they are sexually polygamous and they need more than one partner to feel satisfied. So the fact that you use a dating app or that your ex was to catch you using a dating app does not mean you are a bad person who does not love your spouse.
The thing is, try explaining that to your spouse. Even though most people are probably polygamous by nature, most married couples still expect fidelity from their spouse, and surfing a dating app while you’re married is just not going to cut it.
